It’s an increasing challenge for social groups and organizations to understand how all this new social networking fits into their traditional environment. In some ways, businesses are easier (although not without challenges!) because at least there are definable customer service or revenue drivers to build a business case. For volunteer, non-profit and faith-based organizations (yes, this means traditional churches too!), it’s much more difficult for traditional members to understand the new methods of communication, and more likely that the culture will be resistant to changes in communication style.
